Do our homes meet the accommodation standards?
Safe Accomodation
A full FRA and health and safety checks are carried out annually on each home, all homes have annual PAT testing carried out, in-date EPC, EICR, gas safety certificates, carbon monoxide detectors are in place in all homes, and health and safety checks are completed by staff on shift every week or depending on risk management for individual young people, daily.
Any of Fairview’s homes that meet the classification for HMO status and have the correct licenses in place.
All the furniture that we provide in our homes meets the furniture and furnishings (fire safety regulations) 1988.
Fire safety checks are completed by staff on shift every week, this includes fire extinguishers, fire blankets, emergency lighting, fire doors and closers, and emergency exits free from debris.
All young people and staff will complete a PEEP, which will be held in the fire safety file, this can be found in hard copy in each home, all people who attend the property will be asked to sign in and out of the visitor’s log.
All young people will be provided during their induction with an emergency evacuation procedure and will be asked to take part in regular mock fire evacuations.
Any new staff to the home will be asked to complete a secondary induction into the specific home to ensure they are aware of the fire evacuation procedures.
Floor plans of the building will be displayed on each floor of all homes.
